1 THE PREFACE　序章

Some hundreds or some thousands years ago, there was a kingdom on Planet Altea. The first king's shield consists of a field argent, with a three-pointed celestial crown Or and an arrow cross Or those are arranged vertically. And the king fights when, his blue vanguard rushed first, his green rearguard protected the king in the rear, and his red main force fought alongside the king. Therefore the national emblem is the dexter tierce per fess azure and gules, the middle tierce pale argent with a three-pointed celestial crown Or and an arrow cross Or, and the sinister tierce per fess gules and vert. This is the origin of the national emblem.

In the reign of another king, the rules of heraldry were established when, the national emblem violates the rule of tincture by placing metal on metal, therefore it was suggested that the argent should be changed into sable. But there were many opinions that there was no need to follow the rules that were created later. And the national emblem remained unchanged.

In the reign of another king, a great knight of gold fought alongside the king and the his red main force, therefore an opinion was raised that one part of the two parts of gules should be changed into Or, but that idea wasn't implemented.

And in the reign of another king, one day, a horde of dragons attacked the country. So the king in the day gazed a statue of a winged lion for a moment, and ordered his engineers to make strong weapons to fight with the dragons. And the engineers built Gradam Castle that was an armed fortress. And other engineers started to draw blueprints for five lion robots. One engineer Calvo began to draw a blueprint for the head and the neck. It has a face on the back of the hard palate, and the rear end was a joint. But he didn't take it into his head that functions of the mane and how to attach the mane onto the head. But the extinct cave lion instead of not having mane, it was one size bigger and stronger than an extant lion, therefore he took the offensive, and submitted the blueprints for a maneless head. And it was accepted. Otto drew a blueprint for the wings. It had external scapulocoracoids were attached onto both sides of the external interscapula which any animals have. And bones of bird's wings were attached onto the external scapulocoracoids those were looked exactly like the real wings of birds. And the bones were fleshed out with artificial muscles, and were covered with artificial skins. And feathers were transplanted onto the artificial skins. But the chief engineer said, "We're building robots, not monsters." , and didn't adopt the blueprint. And he redrew the wings. The new wings consist of only tertial plates and secondary plates without primary plates. And the new blueprint was adopted. Ercole drew a blueprint for the thorax. The cervical root was cylindrical form that lays on its side and is entered into the front end of the thorax. And the chest emblem rotates up and down along the surface of the cervical root. Dontacos drew a blueprint for the abdomen. It had thoracic and lumbar joints were attached to the front and back of stacked cylinders. Corvetta drew a blueprint for the forepaws. It had the base of the forepaws are sliding along an L-shaped grooves on the inside of the pauldrons. And Galoppo drew a blueprint for the hindpaws. It was no different from the hindpaws of normal lions.

　何百年か何千年か前、アルテア星という星に王国があった。初代王の盾は、白地に金の天の王冠と矢十字が描かれていた。そして、王が戦う時は、青の部隊が先導し、緑の部隊が王の背後を守り、赤の部隊が王と共に戦った。故に国章は、左の三分の一は上が青で下が赤、真ん中の三分の一は白地に金色の王冠と十字架、右の三分の一は上が赤で下が緑になった。これが国章の由来である。

　別の王の時代に紋章学の規則が確立した際に、国章が、金属色の上に金属色を置いてはいけないという規則に違反しているので、白を黒に変更する事が提案されたが、後から作られた規則に従う必要は無いという意見が多かったので、国章は変えられなかった。

　別の王の時代に、偉大な黄金の騎士が王及び赤の部隊と共に戦ったので、二か所の赤い部分のうちの一つを金に変えるべきだという意見が出たが、その案は実行されなかった。

　また別の王の時代のある日、ドラゴンの大群がその国を襲った。そこで時の王は、翼のあるライオンの像をしばし見つめてから、ドラゴンと戦わせるために、技師達に強力な武器を作る事を命じた。技師達は武装要塞であるグレーダム城を作った。そして他の技術者達は五体のライオンの設計図を描き始めた。技師カルヴォは頭部と頚部の設計図を描いた。それは硬口蓋の裏面に顔があって、後端が関節になっていた。しかし彼は、鬣の機能と、どうやって鬣を頭にくっつけるかを思い付かなかった。そこで絶滅種のホラアナライオンは鬣が無い代わりに現生のライオンより一回り大きくて強いと開き直って、鬣の無い頭部の設計図を投げ槍に提出して受理された。またある技師オットーは翼の設計図を描いた。それは外付けの間肩甲骨の両側に、外付けの肩甲烏口骨が付いていて、その肩甲烏口骨からは本物の鳥とは寸分も違わぬ翼の骨が生えていて、その骨は人工筋肉で肉付けされ、更に人工皮膚で覆われていた。そしてその人工皮膚には羽毛が植えられていた。しかし技師長は「我々は怪獣ではなくてロボットを作っているのだ」と言ってその設計図を採用しなかった。そこでオットーは翼を描き直した。その翼は初列風切板が無くて、三列風切板と次列風切板だけで出来ていた。そしてその描き直された設計図は採用された。またある技師エルコーレは胸部の設計図を描いた。それは円筒形の頸椎基部が横倒しになって胸部の前端に入っていて、胸のエンブレムは胸椎基部の表面に沿って上下に動いた。またある技師コルヴェッタは前肢の設計図を描き始めた。それは前脚の付け根が肩当ての内側の面の、エル字型の溝に沿って滑るようになっていた。またある技師ドンタコスは腹部の設計図を描いた。それは積み重なった円筒の前後に胸椎関節と腰椎関節が付いていた。またある技師ガロッポは前肢の設計図を描き始めた。それは普通のライオンの後ろ脚とは、特に違いが無かった。

解説

　2023年の一月に、モデロイドからゴライオンのプラモデルが売り出される事が発表された後、ネットでゴライオンの話をしていたら、原作とは違う配置で合体している絵があったので、ぼくも悪ノリして頭と首は黒獅子、胸は青・黄獅子で黒獅子のように背中の翼と胸の紋章があり、前脚は黒獅子、腹部は赤・緑獅子、腰は青・黄獅子、後ろ脚は黒獅子以外の全部乗せライオンの設計図を描いて、皆が読めるように英語で投稿しました。その時は、尻尾を赤・緑獅子と同じにする方法は思いつかなかったので、青・黄獅子と同じにして、黒獅子の肩に刺さる枘を別に付けました。原作とは違う設定っぽいファンアートがあったり、俺設定を展開している人がいたり、二次創作を書いてる人がいたので、ぼくも書いてみたくなって書き始めたんですけど、日本国内では再放送が無かったうえに、DVDも売ってないので、日本人がいませんでした。海外ではゴライオンはVoltronという名前です。

　技師達の名前は2023年の七月に考えました。頭と首の設計図を描いた人は、鬣の無い設計図を描いたので、イタリア語で「禿げ」です。翼の設計図を描いた人は、グライダーを作ったオットー・リリエンタールが由来で、胸の設計図を描いた人は、「胸が大きい」からの連想で、ヘラクレスのイタリア語形で、前脚の設計図を描いた人は、馬が後ろ脚だけで立って前脚をパカパカする動作で、おなかの設計図を描いた人は、腹→デブ→董卓→ドン・タコスで、後ろ脚の設計図を描いた人は、聖闘士星矢という漫画に出るユニコーン・ギャロップという技が蹴り技なので、ギャロップをイタリア語にしました。

　2024年の春に、ネットで紋章学が話題になったので、母が紋章に詳しかったのを思い出して、冒頭の、初代王や偉大な黄金の騎士の話を書き足しました。

2 A CRAZY ENGINEER　変わり者の技師

One of the engineers was an elf woman whose name was Copria Venere. Even though the elves were adults, they were only as tall as human boys and girls in their early teens, and their ears were long and sharp-pointed. She was in charge of the blueprints for the pelvis. She had drawn the skeleton of the lion's pelvis. A pair of rods descends while extending backward from each side of the spine, and a rod extends toward the center of the body and connects to the opposite lower end of the opposite rod, that forms a shape like the Greek Alphabet pi. The femurs were extending from the middle of the two vertical lines.

"There are two concepts for this project. One is that the hind paws of the head-torso lion, which becomes into the body, those are stuck into the bottom. And the other it has a tenon somewhere on the pelvis that sticks into the one side shoulder of the body lion, which becomes into the body."

She looked at the drawing while saying so.

"...that's difficult."

After thinking for a moment, she said.

And she referred to blueprints of the abdomen designed by Dontacos and hindpaws designed by Galoppo. The abdomen was structured like pelvic tongs hold a thoracic pizza cutter, and there was no vertebral column inside. And the hindpaws were structured like shells are stuffed with machines inside, and there were no bones inside.

"It can't connect."

She said that, and thought again for a while.

And she said,"I shouldn't bring my personal tastes into the public affair.'' , and threw away her blueprint that she had drawn using a lion's bones of the pelvis as a model, and drew her second blueprint, and submitted it. Its tail was put on the dorsal position of the bottom of the pelvis. And its tenon was put on the ventral side of the bottom of the pelvis. That tenon was inserted into the mortise of shoulder, when the lions combine. Then, at the moment, the other engineers fell silent, and some engineers burst into laughter. And the chief engineer told her to redraw the blueprint.

　技師の一人は妖精の女性であり、名はコプリア・ヴェネーレといった。妖精は成人であっても、ローティーンの少年少女くらいの身長しか無く、耳が長くとがっていた。彼女は腰部分の設計図を受け持っていた。彼女は最初、ライオンの腰の骨の製図をしていた。背骨の、腰椎と尾椎の境目の両側から、一対の棒が後方へと延びながら降下して行き、下端部から体心側に棒が伸びて反対側の棒の下端部に繋がり、ギリシャ文字のπのような形になっており、二本の縦線の途中辺りから、大腿骨が伸びていた。

　「今回のコンセプトは二つ。一つは、胴体になるライオンの後肢がお尻に刺さる事。もう一つは、腰のどこかに、胴体になるライオンの肩に刺さる枘を持つ事」

　彼女はそう言いながら、図面を見た。

　「・・・難しいわね」

　暫く考えてから、そう言った。

　そして、ドンタコスが設計した腹部とガロッポが設計した後肢の設計図を参照した。腹部は胸部ピザカッターを腰部トングで挟んだような構造で、中に背骨は通ってなくて、後脚も殻の中に機械が入っていて、骨は入ってなかった。

　「繋がらないわね」

　そう言うと、また暫く考えた。

　そして「公共の事業に私個人の趣味を持ち込むべきではないわ」と言うと、ライオンの腰の骨をモデルにして描いた図面を捨てて、二枚目の設計図を描いて提出した。その設計図では、尻尾は腰の底面の背中側に付いていて、合体時に肩の枘穴に刺さる枘が腰の底面の腹側に付いていた。その時他の技師達は静まり返り、一部の技師達は大笑いをした。そして技師長は設計図を描き直すように言った。

解説

　この作品は、2023年の一月に書いた後、2023年の三月に腰の設計図を描き直す場面を書き足しました。そして2023年の五月に、ドラゴンクエスト10というゲームで、真のリンジャの塔にいた人が、台詞もアクションも面白かったので、彼女をモデルにして何か書いてみたくなって、腰の設計図を描いた技師の名前を考えました。

3 A LOTHARIO KNIGHT　ドン・ファン

At that night, Copria drank at the bar and was complaining. Then a knight called out to her. The knight was named Peltro Jove who was a tall and lean, handsome nix. Copria complained and showed the blueprint to Peltro. Then Peltro made a vulgar imagination and almost burst into laughter. But he held back his laughter, and looked kindly as possible, and suggested, "Why don't you put the tail on the handle of the bucket, and let the tail shrink and become into a tenon, and you will be as graceful and beautiful as an angel?"

Copria returned her home, and redrew the blueprint. And Copria submitted it, at the next day. And the blueprint was accepted. Thus the blueprints of the lion robot were drawn and were completed.

And it was decided to build one Blue Lion, one Green Lion, one White Lion, and two Red Lions. And the fifth team decided to build one Red Lion, and decided to use blue camera eyes to distinguish it from the other Red Lion.

And then the first team started to build Black Lion instead of White Lion, the second team started to build Red Lion Unit 1, the third team started to build Green Lion, the fourth team started to build Blue Lion, and the fifth team started to build Yellow Lion instead of Red Lion Unit 2. And five lion robots were built and were completed.And five lion robots were built and were completed.

The lion robots combined and became into a giant robot. The giant robot was wild Golion but it was different from our Golion that we know.

　その夜、コプリアは酒場で飲んだくれながら愚痴を言っていた。すると一人の騎士が彼女に声をかけた。騎士は痩せて背が高い、半魚人のハンサムな男性であり、名はペルトロ・ジョーヴェであった。コプリアは愚痴を言いながら設計図をペルトロに見せた。するとペルトロは、品の無い想像をして、一瞬吹き出しそうになったが、こらえて、出来るだけ優しい顔をして、「バケツの取っ手から尻尾を生やして、その尻尾が縮んで枘になるのはどうでしょうか」と提案した。コプリアは家に帰ってから設計図を描き直して、翌日提出すると、それは受理された。こうしてライオンロボットの設計図が完成した。

　そして青獅子と緑獅子と白獅子を一体ずつと赤獅子を二体作る事が決まった。そして第五班は、赤獅子を一体作る事と、もう一体の赤獅子と区別のために、青いカメラアイを使う事を決めた。

　そして、第一班は白獅子ではなくて黒獅子を作り始め、第二班は赤獅子一号を作り始め、第三班は緑獅子を作り始め、第四班は青獅子を作り始め、第五班は赤獅子二号ではなくて黄獅子を作り始めて、五体のライオンロボットが完成した。

　五体のライオン達は合体してロボットになった。そのロボットはゴライオンという名であったが、我々が知っているゴライオンとは違っていた。

解説

　2023年の一月にこの作品を書いて、2023年の三月に、バケツの取っ手から尻尾が生えてる絵を描いた人がいたので、尻尾を赤・緑獅子と同じにする方法を思い付いて、名も知らぬ旅人が尻尾と枘の作り方を提案する場面を書き足して、技師が設計図を描き直す場面を書き足して、2023年の五月に、その名も知らぬ旅人の名前と、技師の名前を考えました。

4 LIONS ALL THE WAY　全部乗せ獅子

It was combined from five rough lion robots. The lion robots were such a structure. The head and the neck resemble our Black Lion. The thorax resembles our Blue and Yellow Lions, and is winged like our Black Lion. The forepaws resemble our Black Lion. The abdomen resembles our Red and Green Lions. The pelvis resembles our Blue and Yellow Lions, but the tail resembles our Green and Red Lions those transform into a tenon that is inserted into the mortise of shoulder. And the hindpaws resemble our five lions.

The five lions wait in the base while, those rotate both the cervical root and the axes of the national emblem, in the thorax, and direct the neck upward and direct the national emblem forward, rotate the upper ends of the neck in the head, and direct the nose forward. Then a tunnel appears that leads from the bottom of the thorax into the cockpit in the head. And the cockpit seat rises up, enters into the cervical root, passes through the neck, and comes into the head. Once the pilot is on board when, those turn the national emblem downward, and sally.

In the outdoors, a small hatch opens at the back of the head, the entire top of the opens as a hatch, or the mouth opens and becomes into an entrance, and the pilot gets on and off from one of the three ways.

When the lions combine, if a lion becomes into the head and the torso, the bases of the forepaws slide backward in the pauldrons. And the forepaws bend and put toes into the pauldrons. And the bases of the forepaws are pulled into the pauldrons. And the pauldrons rotate 180 degrees. The tail becomes shorter. And the base of the tail rotates upward and forward, and the tail sticks onto the back. And the hindpaws extend. And the wings spread. And the lion stands upright. The atlanto-occipital joints in the head, rotate. And the head faces forward. And the mouth opens widely. And the palate that has a face behind it, hangs down. In the case of Black Lion, the bases of the ears rise up and become into side crests.

When the lions combine, if lion becomes into the arm, the base of the forepaws slide backwrd in the pauldrons. It bends the elbows and puts the toes into the pauldrons. The bases of the forepaws are retracked into the pauldrons. And the pauldrons rotate 180 degrees. And the hindpws are folded. The tail shortens. And the base of the tail moves from the dosal side to the ventral side, on the bottom of the buttocks.

When the lions combine, if a lion becomes into the leg, the base of the forepaws slide backwrd in the pauldrons. It bends the elbows and puts the toes into the pauldrons. But the bases of the forepaws aren't retracked into the pauldrons. And the pauldrons don't rotate. Then, the elbows and the forearms earths on the ground like the hind toes of birds. And the hindpaws are folded. The tail shortens. And the base of the tail rotates upward and forward. And the tail sticks onto the back. The cervical root rotates in the thorax. And the part behind neck rises up. But the nationl emblem stays on the bottom of the thorax, and is upside down on the heel.

The factorial of 5 is 120, therefore wild Golion has 120 formations and 120 abilities.

The inner face in the mouth is installed various sensors in the nose, therefore it retracts the nasal guard into the under of the forehead armour, and exposes the nose. But the nasal guard is pushed out, and protects the nose, in danger.

It slides the upper lip upward and the lower lip downward when, there is an exhaust port at the position of the mouth. And it discharges the excess heat that was generated inside the fuselage.

The lions were installed 3D printers on various parts of the bodies. And the 3D printers make various weapons appear in the air, during battle.

Black Lion's ears stand up and become into side crests, from the bases of the ears, when it becomes into the head and the body.

Green Lion was able to change its colour in various ways, during covert action. But now, the functionality is broken, and it turns colour of the thorax, into green and red at random.

Yellow Lion's camera eyes were traditional type which were blue, but other Lions' camera eyes were newly developed type which were yellow. And a big cannon was established on the external interscapula, on the back of Yellow Lion. The cannon was assigned a number 5. And the other four lions were assigned numbers from 1 to 4 on their external interscapula.

　それは五体の、未改修のライオン達が合体していた。そのライオン達の構造は、頭部と頚部は我々が知る黒獅子に似ていて、胸部は我々の青獅子と黄獅子に似ていて、しかも黒獅子のように翼があって、前脚は我々の黒獅子に似ていて、腹部は我々の赤獅子と緑獅子に似ていて、腰部は我々の青獅子と黄獅子に似ているが、尻尾は我々の赤獅子と緑獅子に似ていて、肩の枘穴に刺さる枘に変形するようになっていて、後脚は我々の五体のライオン達に似ていた。

　ライオン達は、基地で待機している時は、胸の中の頸椎基部と国章基部を回して、首を上に向けて国章を前に向けていた。そして頭の中の、頸椎上端部を回して顔を前に向けていた。すると胸部の底面から頭の中の操縦室に繋がる通路が出来た。それは頸椎基部の中と首の中を通って、頭の中の操縦室に繋がっていた。操縦席は下から迫り上がって来て、頸椎基部の中に入ると首の中を通って頭の中に来た。パイロットが乗り込むと、国章を下に向けて、出撃した。

　野外での乗降時は、後頭部で小さいハッチが開くか、頭頂部全体がハッチとして開くか、口が開いて出入り口になるかして、パイロットはそれらの三か所から乗降した。

　ライオン達が合体する時、頭と胴体になるライオンは、前足の付け根が肩当ての中で後方にスライドする。前脚を曲げて爪先を肩当ての中に入れる。そして前脚の付け根は肩当ての中に引っ込む。そして肩当ては180度回転する。尻尾が短くなって、付け根が上方そして前方に回転して尻尾が背中にくっつく。後脚を伸ばして翼を広げる。そしてライオンが直立して真っ直ぐに立つ。頭の中の環椎後頭関節が回転して、頭部が前を向く。そして口を大きく開いて、裏面に顔がある硬口蓋が垂れ下がる。尚、黒獅子だと耳の付け根が起き上がって脇立てになる。

　ライオン達が合体する時、腕になるライオンは、前足の付け根が肩当ての中で後ろにスライドして、肘を曲げて、爪先を肩当てに入れる。前足の付け根は肩当ての中に引っ込む。そして肩当ては180度回転する。後ろ脚は折り畳まれる。尾が短くなって、尾の付け根は腰の底面で、背中側から腹側に移動する。

　ライオン達が合体する時、脚になるイオンは、前足の付け根が肩当ての中で後ろにスライドして、肘を曲げて爪先を肩当ての中に入れてるが、前足の付け根は肩当ての中に引っ込まなくて、肩当ても回転しない。その時肘と前腕部は、鳥の後ろ趾のように接地する。後足は折り畳まれる。尾が短くなって、尾の付け根が上方そして前方に回転して、尻尾が背中にくっつく。頸部基部は胸の中で回転して、首から後ろの部分が起き上がる。しかし国章は胸部の底面に留まって、踵で上下逆様になる。

　5の階乗は120であるので、未改修ゴライオンは、120の姿と能力を持っていた。

　頭部の中のマスクは、鼻の中に各種センサーを備え付けられていたので、鼻当てを額の中に引っ込めて、鼻を露出していた。しかし危険な状況では、鼻当てを額から出して鼻をガードした。

　唇を上下に滑らせて開くと、口の位置に排気口があって、機体の中で発生した過剰な熱を排出した。

　ライオン達は身体各所に3Dプリンターを設置していて、戦闘中に、様々な武器を空中に出現させた。

　黒獅子は、合体して頭部と胴体になる時に、耳の付け根が起き上がって脇立てになるようになっていた。

　緑獅子は、隠密行動の際に、体の色を様々に変える事が出来たが、現在その機能は壊れていて、胸部の色を気紛れに赤と緑に変えるようになっている。

　黄獅子の目は旧式の青いカメラ・アイであったが、他のライオン達の目は新型の黄色いカメラ・アイであった。また黄獅子の背中の、外部間肩甲骨には大砲が設置された。その大砲には数字の5が書かれた。そして他の四体の獅子達は、外部間肩甲骨に、1から4までの数字が書かれた。

解説

　腰の構造は、ぼくが2023年1月25日に描いた絵では、尻尾とは別に、合体時に肩の枘穴に刺さる枘があって、それは腰底面の腹側に備え付けられてましたから、Voltronの話をする掲示板に絵を投稿し時にウケて変に盛り上がって、ウケた理由を知ってから描き直したいと思ってましたけど、2023年の3月1日に、同掲示板の、他の、名も知らぬ訪問者が、バケツの取っ手から尻尾が生えてる絵を投稿してる事に気が付いて、尻尾の付け根が背側と腹側を移動可能で、合体時に尻尾が縮んで枘になって、しかも腰底面に後ろ足が刺さる仕組みに設計し直しました。

　日本語の「百獣王ゴライオン」というアニメを見て感想を書いてるアメリカ人がいるんですけど、日本のアニメの33話では、ゴライオンは4000メートル(13123.35958フィート)まで潜れるのに、アメリカ向けに作り直されたVoltronでは6000フィート(1828.8メートル)まで潜れます。

　2023年の9月20日に、11年前にも全部乗せライオンの作り方を考えたがいた事を知りました。頭と首と前脚が黒獅子、胸と腰は青・黄獅子で、胸に黒獅子の翼と紋章を付けて、腹と尻尾は赤・緑獅子、後ろ脚は黒獅子以外という構造でした。ぼくはアニメの合体シーンも、超合金やプラモデルやガシャポンの合体の仕方も覚えてなくて、スーパーミニプラの赤・緑獅子が尻尾を引き抜いた穴に、黒獅子の肩の突起を刺し込むのだけを知ってる状態で、腰と尻尾の構造を間違えた設計図を描いたのに対して、その人は最初から正しい構造を考えてました。「どこの車も車輪は丸い」というレベルで、誰が考えても同じ構造になります。

5 FIVE PALADINS　五人の戦士

When the five lion robots were completed, five pilots of the lions were chosen from among knights. Then Copria Venere, the elf woman wasn't a knight, but she was chosen to be a pilot of Green Lion, and an engineer and a mechanic. Plomo Saturno is a human adult man who was chosen to be the leader and a pilot of Black Lion. Feirro Marte was chosen to be a pilot of Red Lion who was a human young man. Dorado Solare was chosen to be a pilot of Yellow Lion who was an orc man. And Peltro Jove was a nix man who was chosen to be a pilot of Blue Lion. The five pilots were called Paladins. The five paladins were given uniforms those were the same colour as their respective lion robots. But yellow dye was too cheap, therefore Dorado the pilot of Yellow Lion, was given a beautiful golden-yellow uniform.

　五体のライオンが完成した時、騎士達の中から、ライオンの操縦者が選ばれた。妖精の女性のコプリア・ヴェネーレは、騎士ではなかったが、緑獅子のパイロット兼技師・整備士となった。黒獅子に乗るのは人間の大人の男性で、リーダーであり、プローモ・サトゥルノという名であった。赤獅子に乗るのはフェイロ・マルテという名の、人間の若い青年であり、黄獅子に乗るのは鬼の男性で、ドラド・ソラーレという名であった。そして半魚人の男性のペルトロが、青獅子に乗る事になった。五人のパイロット達はパラディンと呼ばれた。五人のパラディン達は、それぞれ乗機と同じ色の制服を与えられた。しかし黄色の染料はあまりにも安価であったので、黄獅子に乗るドラドには、美しい山吹色の制服が与えられた。

解説

　五人のパイロット達の名前は、2023年の五月に考えました。コプリア・ヴェネーレはスペイン語のcobre(銅)とイタリア語のVenere(金星)、プローモ・サトゥルノはスペイン語のplomo(鉛)とイタリア語のSaturno(土星)、フェイロ・マルテはイタリア語のfèrro(鉄)とMarte(火星)、ドラド・ソラーレはスペイン語のdorado(金メッキ)とイタリア語のsolare(太陽の～)、ペルトロ・ジョーヴェはイタリア語のpeltro(ピューター)とGiove(木星)が由来です。

6 A MOUSE ROBOT　ネズミのロボット

Soldiers in Gradam Castle were given army green uniforms. And non-combatants such as liaison officers and quartermasters were given pale yellow uniforms.

Mercurio Esselvio was a therianthropy who served Princess Plata. Therianthropies differed in height from person to person, and which animals they resembled also varied from person to person. Mercurio was about the height of a human child and looked like an upright mouse. Mercurio was a non-combatant, so he wore a pale yellow uniform. But he often visited the Paladins as an errand for Princess Plata. Therefore Copria built a mouse robot as a means of self-defense, and gave it to Mercurio.

It was made by Copria personally, therefore it was designed with her taste fully open. She gave body and substance with machines to a structure that was modelled after a mouse skeleton. Copria wanted to keep production costs low, therefore she made two traditional blue camera eyes in a large size, which was used in Yellow Lion, and she made two newly developed yellow camera eyes in a smaller size, which was used in other lions, and put those inside the big blue camera eyes. Coxæ of mouse are shaped like threaded pegs, those are a pair of left and right from the middle of the lumbar vertebræ, extends diagonally and downward, therefore Copria was a little surprised. The concept of the robot was to be able to walk on four paws and two paws. The scapulæ of mouse were like a teardrop-shaped plate. The scapulæ were external and were attached onto the surface of the body, unlike a real mouse. The round part at the bottom of the teardrop-shape that was attached onto the flank, and arms were attached onto the pointy top of the teardrop-shape. When walking on four paws and walking on two paws, it was changing the position of the base of the arm, by it changes the angle around the center of the lower round part of the external scapula. The neck of mouse doesn't bend very much, therefore it was difficult to face forward when it stands upright. And Copria crowned the human occipital bone with the jawless skull of mouse, and made a double structure.

The cockpit block moved up and down along the rope that was strung on the back side of spine and cervical vertebræ and occiput, therefore the pilot was possible to get on and off, from the mouth and lower abdomen as needed. A large portion of the hind paws of mouse are buried in its body, therefore, if it is a steel body, it can't be shaped like a mouse. Therefore Copria deceived with a means that she hanged round shields from both sides of its hips.

And the hands were shaped to resemble human hands, not mouse hands, for practical reasons. The robot was able to walk on four paws and two paws. It used Golion's technology, therefore it was able to run in the sky.

When the mouse robot was completed, Copria asked Mercurio, "What would you name to this robot?" And Mercurio said, "I name it Exelvy. My ancestor was Exelvius, but some hundreds of years ago, X became into SS, and US became into O." And the letters "XLVII" were engraved on the cockpit lever.

Exelvy often fought alongside Golion. Then the king said, "Put our national crest on that mouse robot. Not really, though my soldiers mistake it for the enemy." And Copria attached the national crest to Exelvy. When Exelvy stands upright, the national crest on the back, is divided into two parts those turn half circle while those move onto the chest via the both sides, and join again.

　グレーダム城で働く戦闘要員達はアーミーグリーンの制服が与えられ、連絡部員や補給員などの非戦闘員は薄い黄色の制服が与えられた。

　王女プラータ姫に、獣人のメルクリオ・エッセルヴィオが仕えていた。獣人は、身長は人によって様々であり、どの動物に似ているかも人によって様々であった。メルクリオは人間の子供くらいの身長であり、ネズミが直立したような姿であった。

　メルクリオは非戦闘員なので、黄色い制服を着ていたが、プラータ姫の使いで度々パラディン達の元を訪れたので、コプリアは、自衛の手段として、ネズミのロボットを作ってメルクリオに与えた。

　それはコプリアが個人で作り、趣味全開で設計したので、ネズミの骨に似た芯に機械で肉付けをするという作り方であった。コプリアは、製作費を安く抑えたいと思ったので、従来の、黄獅子の目に使われた旧式の青いカメラ・アイを大きめに作って、新しく開発されて、他のライオン達に使われた黄色いカメラ・アイを小さめに作って、大きな青いカメラ・アイの中に入れた。ネズミの寛骨は、腰椎の半ば辺りから左右一対の、穴開き杭のような棒が斜め下に伸びたような形なので、コプリアは少し驚いた。

　そのロボットは四足歩行と二足歩行が出来る事をコンセプトとした。ネズミの肩甲骨は、しずく型の板のようであった。肩甲骨は、実際のネズミとは違って外付けで、体の表面に取り付けられていた。しずく型の下部の丸い部分が脇腹に取り付けられていて、上部のとがった部分から腕が生えていた。それは四足歩行時と二足歩行時に、下部の丸い部分を軸として角度を変える事によって、腕の付け根の位置を変えていた。

　ネズミの首はあまり曲がらないので、直立した時に前を向きにくかったので、コプリアは、人間の後頭部の骨に、ネズミの顎無し頭蓋骨を被せるなど、二重構造にした。

　コクピット・ブロックは、背骨と頸椎骨と内部頭蓋骨の裏面に張られたロープを伝って上下に動いて、必要に応じて口及び下腹部から乗降が出来た。

　ネズミの後ろ脚は、かなりの部分が体の中に埋まっているので、鋼鉄のボディだと、ネズミらしい形に出来なくて、腰の両サイドに、丸い盾をぶら下げて誤魔化した。

　手は、実用的な理由から、ネズミの手には似せずに、人間の手に似た形に作ってあった。

　また、ゴライオンの技術を流用して作ったので、空を走る事が出来た。

　ネズミのロボットが完成した時、コプリアがメルクリオに、ロボットの名前は何が良いかを聞いたら、メルクリオは「エクセルヴィー(Exelvy)が良い。ぼくの先祖はエクセルヴィウス(Exelvius)だったんだけど、何百年か前にxがs二つになって、usがoになったんだ」と言った。そしてコクピットのレバーには、XLVIIという字が掘られた。

　エクセルヴィーはしばしばゴライオンに加勢して戦った。そこで王は「我々の国章をあのネズミのロボットに付け賜え。本当は駄目なのだが、我々の兵士が敵と誤認するのだ」と言った。そこでコプリアはエクセルヴィーに国章を取り付けた。エクセルヴィーが二本足で立ち上がる時、背中に付いている国章は二つに分かれて、半回転しながら胸に移動して、再び結合した。

解説

　プラータはスペイン語のplata(銀)、メルクリオはイタリア語のmercurio(水銀、水星)が由来です。

　百獣王ゴライオンというアニメは、元々日本で作られたんですけど、日本国内では再放送されなくて、DVDも売られてないですけど、アメリカではVoltronという題名で放送されて、人気になりました。アメリカ版では、X-47という名前のネズミのロボットが出ますけど、アメリカのオリジナルなのか、日本のアニメにも出ていたのかどうかは分からないです。この作品に出るネズミのロボットは、アメリカのアニメに出たX-47とは別物で、ローマ数字のXLVII(47)が名前の由来です。

　ローマ数字のXLVIIをeXeLVIIに細工してから、変形してExelviusとラテン語の人名っぽくした後、更にイタリア語風に変形してEsselvioにしました。ロボットの名前は、Exelviusを英語っぽくExelvyにしました。

　ゴライオンの体重は700トンなので、5で割りました。全部乗せライオンの大きさは、目分量で35メートルにしました。

　エクセルヴィーの体重は、人間の密度は1.1くらいで、アシモ君の密度は0.7くらいですから、20メートルのネズミの体重を計算してから、7/11を掛けました。

　全部乗せライオンの方が大きいのに軽い理由は、国の予算で作ったので、小型で軽くて丈夫で高出力の部品をふんだんに使えたけど、エクセルヴィーは個人で作ったから、安物の機械を使ったので小さい割に重くなったという事で良いでしょうか。

7 ALTERNATION　交代

One day, Plomo was called in as a leader of a detached force, and got off Black Lion. And Princess Plata boarded into Black Lion, instead of him. But she wasn't able to control it well. And then, Copria looked at Princess Plata's maneuvering data, and told her to boarded into Blue Lion. When Princess Plata boarded into Blue Lion, she was able to control it better than Black Lion. Furthermore, Copria told Feirro to board into Black Lion, and told Peltro to board into Red Lion, based on past achievements. Then Feirro found it easier to control Black Lion than Red Lion. And Peltro was able to maneuver Red Lion better than Blue Lion.

Princess Plata asked to Copria, "Why did you become into an engineer, a woman as you are?" And Copria recounted half of her life. Copria was an animal lover, therefore she said I want have a pet. But she was told we can't keep pets at home. And her father was an engineer, who created and gave her a pet robot. After that, her father died.

And her pet robot was broken too, before Copria graduated from the basic school which all children entere. At that time, Copria asked the teachers how to repair the robot, therefore she ended up enrolling in a mechanical engineering school. And she learned mechanical engineering at the school. But she also had a biology textbook that she had bought for herself, in her bag. And she was reading in her spare time.

　ある時、プローモは別動隊のリーダーとして呼ばれ、黒獅子を降りた。そして代わりにプラータ姫が黒獅子に乗ったが、上手く操縦できなかった。そこでコプリアが、プラータ姫の操縦データを見て青獅子に乗るように言った。姫が青獅子に乗ると、黒獅子より上手く操縦する事が出来た。更にコプリアは、それまでの実績を元に、フェイロは黒獅子、ペルトロは赤獅子に乗るように言った。するとフェイロは赤獅子よりも黒獅子の方が操縦しやすくて、ペルトロは青獅子よりも赤獅子の方が上手く操縦が出来た。

　プラータ姫はコプリアに、なぜ女だてらに技師になったのかを聞いたので、コプリアは半生を語った。

　コプリアは動物が好きで、ペットを飼いたいと言ったが、家では飼えないと言われ、技師であった父がペットロボットを作って与えた。その後、父が死んで、コプリアが、子供達全員が入る基礎学校を卒業する前に、ペットロボットも壊れた。その時、コプリアは先生達に、ロボットの修理の仕方を聞いて回ったので、機械工学の学校に入学する事になった。彼女は学校で機械工学を習ったが、鞄には個人で買った生物学の教科書も一冊入れていて、暇な時に読んでいた。

解説

　5話では、ライオンの色と服の色を一致させたんですけど、原作では赤い服の人が黒獅子、青い服の人が赤獅子、黒い服の人(後に姫に交代)が青獅子に乗ってましたので、7話では、黒獅子のパイロットを退場させて、赤い服の人を黒獅子、青い服の人を赤獅子、姫を青獅子に乗せて、原作通りにしました。

　この話の後半ではコプリアの過去を描きましたけど、ぼく自身はコプリアとは逆で、学校では生物学を習って、遊んでる時はガンダムなどのロボットアニメを見たりガンプラを作ったりしてました。

8 IMPROVEMENT　改修

It let the five lion robots rearrange in various configurations, and used the 120 different abilities to fight, according to the enemies and the situations as the occation demands. But one day, it was defeated.

And wild Golion was fixt to the formation with the highest overall performance. The formation is consists of the head and the torso are Black Lion, the right arm is Red Lion, the left arm is Green Lion, the right leg is Blue Lion, and the left leg is Yellow Lion.

　未改修ゴライオンは、五体のライオン達を様々な配置に組み替えて、相手と状況に合わせて120種類の能力を使い分けて戦っていたが、ある時、敗北した。

　そこで、総合性能が最も高いフォーメーションで、固定される事になった。それは頭部と胴体が黒獅子であり、右腕は赤獅子であり、左腕は緑獅子であり、右足は青獅子であり、左脚は黄獅子であった。

解説

　今回は、ゴライオンが原作と同じ姿になる話です。

9 HEAD AND TORSO LION　胴体獅子

Wild Black Lion was removed the boot for insert the hindpaw, from the pelvis. And the thorax was downsized. And the external interscapula was fixt on the cervical root. And the base of the tail was fixt on the dorsal position. And the abdomen was clad in armour and was reinforced to increase defence. The pelvis and hip joints support the total weight, therefore those were remodeled extensively. And machines were put in the empty spaces, those bestowed the superior abilities those were possessed by other formations.

Trained Black Lion waits in the base while, it aparts the external interscapula from the external scapulocoracoids. And it rotates both the cervical root and the axes of the national emblem, in the thorax, and directs the neck upward and directs the national emblem forward, rotates the atlanto-occipital joints in the head, and directs the nose forward. Then the external interscapula is caught in the cervical root and hides in the thorax, and a tunnel appears that leads from the bottom of the thorax into the cockpit in the head. And the cockpit seat rises up, enters into the cervical root, passes through the neck, and comes into the head. The pilot is on board when, it turns the national emblem downward, and sallies.

When trained Black Lion combines, it becomes into the head and the torso. Then the bases of the forepaws slide backward in the pauldrons. And the forepaws bend and put toes into the pauldrons. And the bases of the forepaws are pulled into the pauldrons. And the pauldrons rotate 180 degrees. The tail becomes shorter. And the base of the tail rotates upward and forward, and the tail sticks onto the back. And the hindpaws extend. And the wings spread. And it stands upright. The atlanto-occipital joints in the head, rotate. And the head faces forward. And the bases of the ears rise up, and become into the side crests. And the mouth opens widely. And the palate that has a face behind it, hangs down.

And an engineer who modified Black Lion planned a new shortenable tail in his own free way.

　未改修黒獅子は、腰部から、後脚が刺さる枘穴を取り除かれ、胸部は小型化され、外部肩甲骨間板は頸椎基部に固定され、尾の付け根の位置は腰底面の背中側に固定され、腹部は鎧を被せられ、補強されて防御力を高められた。腰と股関節には全体重がかかるので大幅に改造された。そして空いたスペースに、他のフォーメーションが持つ能力を与える機械を埋め込まれた。

　改修された黒獅子は基地で待機する時、頸椎基部に固定されている外部間肩甲骨を、外側肩甲烏口骨から切り離す。そして、胸部の中で頸椎基部と国章の軸の両方を回転させ、首を上に向けて国章を前方に向け、頭部の中で環椎後頭関節を回転させ、顔を前方に向ける。すると、外部間肩甲骨が頸椎基部に巻き込まれて胸部の中に隠れ、胸部の底部から頭部のコックピットに繋がるトンネルが現れる。そしてコックピットシートがせり上がって、頸椎基部の中に入り込み、首の中を通って頭部に入る。パイロットが搭乗すると、黒獅子は国章を下に向けて出撃する。

　改修された黒獅子が合体する時は頭と胴体になる。その時、前脚の付け根が肩当ての中で後方に滑る。前脚を曲げて爪先を肩当てに入れる。そして前脚の付け根は肩当ての中に引っ込む。そして肩当ては180度回転する。尻尾が短くなり、尻尾の付け根が上方、そして前方に回転して、尻尾が背中にくっつく。そして後ろ脚を後ろに伸ばす。そして翼を広げる。そして直立して立つ。頭の中の環椎後頭関節が回転する。そして頭部が前を向く。そして耳の付け根が起き上がって脇立てになる。そして口が大きく開き、裏面に顔がある口蓋が垂れ下がる。

　黒獅子の改造をした技師は、短くなる尻尾を自由な方法で新しく設計した。

10 ARM LIONS　腕獅子

Wild Green and Red Lions were removed the inner face from inside the mouth, and were removed the boot from the pelvis. And the forepaws were removed the pauldrons, and the glenohumeral joints were jointed onto the shoulders directly. And the neck, and the thorax was downsized. And the wings were cut off along with the external scapulocoracoids. But the external interscapula was left, and was fixt on the cervical root. And the chest emblem was removed, because it is turned upside down on the wrists. And machines were put in the empty spaces, those bestowed the superior abilities those were possessed by other formations.

Trained Green and Red Lions wait in the base while, those rotate the cervical root, in the thorax, and direct the neck upward, rotate the atlanto-occipital joints in the head, and direct the nose forward. Then the external interscapula is caught on the cervical root and hides into the thorax, and a tunnel appears that leads from the bottom of the thorax into the cockpit in the head. And the cockpit seat rises up, enters into the cervical root, passes through the neck, and comes into the head. The pilot is on board when, those sally.

When trained Green and Red Lions combine, those become into the arms. Then the forepaws and the hindpaws are folded. The tail shortens, and becomes into a tenon. And the base of the tail moves from the dorsal side to the ventral side, on the bottom of the buttocks.

11 LEG LIONS　脚獅子

Wild Blue and Yellow Lions were removed the inner face from inside the mouth. And the forepaws were removed the pauldrons, and the glenohumeral joints were jointed onto the shoulders directly. And the neck was downsized but the thorax wasn't downsized. And the wings were cut off along with the external scapulocoracoids. But the external interscapula was left. And the base of the tail was fixt on dorsal position. And the abdomen was clad in armour and was reinforced to increase defence. And the chest emblem was removed, because it is turned upside down on the heels. And machines were put in the empty spaces, those bestowed the superior abilities those were possessed by other formations.

Trained Blue and Yellow Lions wait in the base while, those rotate the cervical root, in the thorax, and direct the neck upward, rotate the atlanto-occipital joints in the head, and direct the nose forward. But the thorax wasn't downsized, therefore the external interscapula isn't caught in the cervical root and doesn't hide in the thorax, and a tunnel appears that leads from the bottom of the thorax into the cockpit in the head. And the cockpit seat rises up, enters into the cervical root, passes through the neck, and comes into the head. The pilot is on board when, those sally.

When trained Blue and Yellow Lions combine, those become into the legs. Then the forepaws and the hindpaws are folded. Then the pads of the palms of the forepaws, earth on the ground like the hind toes of birds. And the tail shortens. And the base of the tail rotates upward and forward. And the tail sticks onto the back. The cervical root rotates in the thorax. And the part behind neck rises up.

 And an engineer who modified Blue Lion, and an engineer who modified Yellow Lion each planned their own new shortenable tails in their own free ways.

　改修された青獅子と黄獅子は、合体する時は脚になる。その時、前脚と後ろ脚は折り畳まれる。その際、前脚の掌が鳥の後趾のように接地する。そして尻尾が短くなり、尻尾の付け根が上方そして前方に回転して、尻尾が背中にくっつく。頸椎基部は胸部内で回転する。その時、首から後ろの部分が起き上がる。

　そして青獅子を改造した技師と、黄獅子を改造した技師は、それぞれが自由な方法で、短くなる尻尾を新しく設計した。

12 VICTORY　勝利

Thus five trained lion robots of three sorts of trained Golion, were reborn. Those five lion robots are our lion robots as we know. And the appearance of the lion robots combined that is our familiar Golion.

And trained Golion fought with the dragon again, and won. And peace returned to the kingdom. The king separated Golion into the five lion robots, and sealed the lions and Gradam Castle.

The distant future that is our age, their stories had been forgotten. The legend goes like this: When a hero achieved victory, he became conceited and challenged the God to war. And the God separated him into five lions. The Galra Empire attacked Planet Altea when, five heroes will come from the Earth, and will resurrect the five lion robots, and will board into them to fight with the Galra Empire.

　こうして、三種類五体の、改修ゴライオンになるライオン達が生まれ変わった。それらの五体のライオン達は、我々が見慣れたライオン達であり、合体した姿は我々が知っているゴライオンであった。

　そしてゴライオンは再びドラゴンと戦って勝った。そして王国に再び平和が訪れた。王はゴライオンを五体のライオン達に分離させると、ライオン達とグレーダム城を封印した。

　遥かなる未来、即ち我々の時代、彼らの物語は忘れられ、伝説はこのように伝えられていた。英雄は勝利を収めると思い上がって神に戦いを挑み、神は彼を五頭のライオンに分けた。ガルラ大帝国がアルテア星を襲撃した時、地球から来た五人の勇者達がライオン達を復活させて乗り込み、ガルラ大帝国と戦うであろう。
